1995 HAMER TELECASTER - Customer's instrument sent in for a restring, polish, and clean.
A quality new old stock. Good value for money. Adjustments, cleaning, and lubrication of the bridge; Conditioning of fretboard; Appropriate cleaning of instrument; Installation of new strings.
This guitar sat in Mahogany, Section 9, Shah Alam since 1995. A friend of mine had finally saved up a good budget and I told him to go for this guitar instead of the Mexican Fender Telecaster he was eying. It was way cheaper and seriously had better features to offer. Plus, it was completely safe. There are no China-made Hamer Telecaster copies. Also, instead of having an Alder body, this guitar had an Ash body. Better wood. It was a 1995 model discontinued in 1999 making it a collector's item. To top it all off, this guitar was Korean-made. Sorry to say, Fender Mexico loses this round.
If you want Fender, you should always make it an effort and aim straight for the Japanese or American ones. Mexican Fender should only be last resorts. There are so many other guitars worth the money you'll end up spending on Mexican Fender.
Just because you've never seen or heard of a guitar, doesn't mean it sucks. Pick it up and play it. Buy with your ears.
